The Farm       

Llwyncrwn Farm is a 30 acre smallholding dating back over 200 years. With pasture land, woods, ponds and ancient hedgerows it is a lovely place to take walk and enjoy the beautiful views. We have a picnic area near the main pond and a woodland walk.

Like all the farms along the lane Llwyncrwn was originally a dairy farm. We now keep sheep, goats, pigs, geese, chickens and ducks. You are welcome to meet the animals and, if you wish, join as at feeding and milking time.

Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead.


You can see a wide variety of wild life on the farm. As well as common garden birds visiting the bird feeders in the farm yard you will also see:
  • Great Spotted Woodpecker
  • Green Woodpecker
  • Wren
  • Bullfinch
  • House Sparrow (the larger Sparrow)
  • Tree Sparrow (smaller Sparrow)
  • Greenfinch
  • Swallow and House Martin (late spring through to early Autumn nesting in the barns)
  • Grey and Pied Wagtail

Around the farm…
  • Buzzard (very common)
  • Sparrow Hawk
  • Red Kite
  • Barn Owl
  • Common Snipe (often in the marsh grass and boggy areas)

On the ponds…
  • Canada Geese (nest on the big pond from Spring)
  • Moorhen
  • Wild Mallard
  • A pair of swans visit periodically throughout the year

In the summer look out for beautiful damselflies and dragonflies hovering over the ponds.

We have a colony of Pipistrelle Bats living in the farm house loft. You can see the bats flying around the farmyard on summer evenings.

Foxes are a common sight. We have seen badgers crossing the farm, but this is rare. Hedgehogs, rabbits, field voles, stoats, field mice and weasels can also be seen.





If you bring your dog you are welcome to walk your dog anywhere on the farm. Your dog must be on a lead due to the livestock.
